Terms of Service

Effective Date: September 28, 2025
Last Updated: September 28, 2025

These Terms of Service explain how STEM for Students (“we,” “our,” or “us”) provides educational services and the rules for using them. STEM for Students is operated by Adaptive Machines LLC. By registering or using our services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms of Service and agree to be bound by them.

1. Eligibility

  • Under 13: We do not enroll learners under 13.
  • Ages 13–17 (U.S. Residents): Students must self-attest that they meet the age requirement and that they obtained parental or guardian consent if required by their family.
  • Ages 13–17 (Non-U.S. Residents): Students must provide a parent or guardian email, which we will use to send a consent request. Services begin only after parental consent is confirmed.
  • Accuracy and Misrepresentation: We rely on accurate registration information (name, email, residency, age category, parental details where required). We are not responsible for false information. Misrepresentation may result in suspension or termination without refund.

2. Services We Offer

We provide online courses, live sessions, and educational resources in STEM subjects designed to strengthen academic foundations for high school and early college students. Additional offerings may include supporting resources and materials.

3. Code of Conduct

All participants must:

  • Communicate respectfully — offensive language, harassment, or disruptive behavior are prohibited.
  • Participate constructively — stay on topic and avoid intentional disruptions.
  • Comply with our policies — including these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Violations may result in removal from a session, restricted access, or termination of services without refund.

4. Rescheduling and Refund Policy

  • The first live session and lesson are provided free of charge as a trial.
  • All subsequent live sessions, lessons, or on-demand purchases are non-refundable.
  • Refund requests must be submitted using our official Contact Form.
  • If approved, refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.
  • Refunds may be denied if a student violates our Code of Conduct or these Terms of Service.

5. Payments

  • All fees are due in advance.
  • Payments are processed securely by Stripe or PayPal. STEM for Students does not collect, store, or have access to payment information.
  • By completing a payment, you confirm that you are legally entitled to use your chosen payment method.

6. Service Modifications

We reserve the right to update, modify, or discontinue services at any time. If significant changes occur, we will notify you by email or on our website. Continued use after such notice constitutes acceptance of the changes.

7. Account Closure

  • You may close your account at any time by contacting us via our Contact Us form.
  • Upon closure, your services will be canceled and personal data handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

8. Student Data and Privacy

  • We take student privacy seriously (see our Privacy Policy).
  • Identifiable data (voice, video, name) is never reused, shared, or sold.
  • Anonymized interactions may be used for course improvement and educational development.

9. Intellectual Property

  • Students are granted a limited, non-transferable license for personal educational use.
  • Unauthorized copying, redistribution, or commercial use is prohibited.

10. Legal Compliance

By using our services, you agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

11. Limitation of Liability

  • Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service giving rise to the claim.
  • We are not responsible for academic outcomes, exam results, indirect damages, or consequential losses.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Adaptive Machines LLC, its affiliates, and instructors from claims, damages, or expenses arising from your misuse of services or violation of these Terms.

13. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

  • U.S. Residents: Disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration under the AAA Consumer Rules in Nashville, Tennessee. Arbitration shall be conducted in English, and the arbitrator’s decision is final and binding. Claims must be brought individually. Class actions are waived.
  • Non-U.S. Residents: These Terms are governed by Tennessee law. Mandatory consumer rights in your country still apply. Arbitration applies only where valid under local law.
  • Exceptions: Arbitration does not apply to small claims cases or claims seeking injunctive relief for intellectual property rights.

14. Attorney’s Fees

In any legal action or arbitration arising under these Terms, the prevailing party may recover reasonable attorney’s fees and costs.

15. Entire Agreement and Severability

These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, form the entire agreement between you and STEM for Students. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain valid.
